Something for Everyone!

The following are just a few of the attractions that will allow children and adults alike to get active at this year’s celebration:
  • The Dodgeball Tournament will be held at the inline skating rink at the west park. The tournament will begin at 8 p.m., but participants are asked to register on-site by 7:15 p.m.
  • Kids can bounce around on the Inflatables, including the action-packed obstacle course, slide, bounce house, and bungee jump. The inflatables will be available in the east park from 4 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.
  • DARA will host Minute to Win It, based on the concept of the popular television show, for the enjoyment of the entire family. The game will be available in the east park parking lot from 4 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.
  • The ever-popular Poker Walk will give families the chance to check out the walking trail. Participants should sign up at the welcome tent in the east park to receive their instructions. The Poker Walk will run from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • The Meadows Celebration Watermelon Eating Contest is as much fun for the spectators as it is for the competitors. Participants battle it out to see who can be the first to eat half a watermelon. First and second prizes will be awarded in each of the following age brackets: ages 6-9; ages 10-15; ages 16-19; and ages 20-49. The fun begins at 5:45 p.m. in the east park parking lot. The Watermelon Eating Contest is sponsored by Firstbank.
  • The DeWitt Public Library brings back the Interactive Story Time from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the east park near pavilion #3. Registration is not required. Children of all ages are invited to take part in this activity.
  • An annual favorite for the kids is Face Painting. Face painters will be showing off their creativity from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at pavilion #3. This event is sponsored by LAFCU.
  • Apples the Clown will again make an appearance. She’ll be putting smiles on the faces of kids at various locations throughout the east park from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
These activities are just the beginning. Join your neighbors for the eighth annual Meadows Celebration and enjoy all the event has to offer!
